did you miss me?...did you even notice i was gone?
i try to write on this blog at least once a week but seeing as i have a few "quirky, self-imposed" rules, i didn't write last week. i don't post on this blog or FB when i'm on vacation (see, the "bad guys" could be reading this blog every day waiting to pounce on my secret identity and come rob my house...and i'm not gonna give 'em a chance!) so no blog entry last week = vacation! (which i guess kinda defeats the whole "keeping the bad guys away" scenario doesn't it...no blog entry must mean ma's not home!)
the kiddies gave sweetie and i a vacation to washington d.c. for christmas...which we finally got to take!
we had nice nice weather...while it was cold and snowy at home, we were sweltering in the 80s! we got to see history laid out in marble all around us! of course, our feet weren't too happy with the trip...i figure we walked well over 11 miles in the first couple of days! we ate spanish, italian, ethiopian, southern...heard languages from around the world and were herded around by massive groups of school kids coming to DC on field trips from as far away as louisiana!
we stayed with son #1 and girlfriend #1 who showed us a great time! since most of you already know what the major monuments and memorials look like...here's a few "off the beaten path" photos...
