Since it's been a "Grinch-ish" kind of Christmas this year...it was only appropriate that we served roast beef at the extended family party. With a nod to Dr. Seuss we called it "Rare Who-Roast Beast"!
The rest of the year, I just call it "Oven Roast" or more simply..."Delicious!"
Take a 3 to 3 1/2 pound roast...usually I use rump roast but this time I used sirloin...it was yummy! Place the big 'ol hunk of meat on some heavy duty aluminum foil. Mix together the Worcestershire and soy sauce and smoosh it all over the meat (you'll probably have a little puddle under the roast...that's OK) Then rub in the seasonings...that you've stirred together because, trust me...you don't want to take a big 'ol bite of roast and have one slice taste all garlic and the next one all pepper.
Wrap the roast up in the foil. Do a "tuck tuck fold" with the foil. (from "Multiplicity" starring Michael Keaton. This quote is when Clone #3 shows his wife the proper way to preserve food!) Put the foil wrapped roast in a pan and slide it into a 325 degree oven and cook for 3 hours.
Open up the little silver bundle and you will have a delicious roast with a bunch of lovely juices underneath. You can take the juice and make a yummy gravy...just shake together a little flour and water, add it to the juices in a saucepan and cook until thick.
Carve the rare Who-Roast Beast and smack your lips! It's an easy and delicious main dish!
