Sun Lizards

This seems to have been a colder-than-usual winter so far. We haven't had more snow than usual (last winter...and I am not making this up...it snowed every other day!) but the temperatures sure seem to be happily ensconced in the 20's!...that's the HIGH folks! Until today! After some miserably icy snowstorms the past week...we now have sunshine and 40's! Yah-whoo! So while filling my car up with fuel this morning, and enjoying just standing in the warm, bright sunshine...I realized that we are all lizards at heart! As soon as the thermometer hits 36 degrees and the sun peeks out, my fellow mountain-westers all don their sandals (with socks!) and shorts! and trudge through the snow with their faces turned skyward...soaking up and storing whatever light and warmth we can grab hold of. If we could just find some huge boulders in town, we'd all be laying there...getting our daily dose of Vitamin D!

so true. i love it when you look at the thermometer and it's 35 degrees and you feel like its a heat wave. :) Only in Utah, right?
