Trail back in time

Ever wondered what "home" looked like before it became populated? There's a place real close to my house that takes you back in time.
I took another hike this morning (it's becoming a Thursday habit!) and did a little time travelling.
You can almost see what the valley was like when the pioneers first entered...no freeway, no tall buildings, no miles and miles of houses and cars and Wally-marts and McBurgers.
The Kiddies and I used to hike this trail when they were little. We'd take our dog...who loved sniffing out every critter he could...and start up a steep, steep hill.
It would take a good 30 minutes of hiking (and whining from little kids!) to reach the springs. Now, with more and more houses being built, the springs are an easy 5 minute walk from our city's newest park.
Hate to see the houses take this pristine piece of time travel...but glad that some of it is still there to enjoy!
 That's Antelope Island out there!
