This is a "Puff" piece

I've been debating what I should write about in my blog this time...Should I write about the incredibly annoying mass of cables and wires that reside behind my computer and television? (someone please invent a multi-ended cable that can connect all TVs, cable boxes, VCRs, game systems, etc. with a minimum of wires. I would bow down before you!) Or should I complain about the cable company whose website is horrible (keep in mind, that they are also an internet server!) and who "upgraded" our cable service which means that we lost all of our high def digital stations AND couldn't record anything that we weren't watching! (isn't that the point of a VCR/DVR...to record stuff while you're away or watching something else?!)

OK...I don't mean to rant and rave...this was going to be a nice, friendly little blog entry. So let's begin...my mother always used "scrubbies" to wash the dishes, and she taught me how to make them. I think they're wonderful for washing dishes!...however, don't confuse them with the bath puffs you use in the shower! These will take your skin off! You can't really wipe the counter with them, but they are so much better than sponges or dishcloths. You can scrub all kinds of gunk off of dishes and pans. You can even throw them in the dishwasher to clean them or...simply chuck them when they get gross...because they only cost about 30 cents to make each one! And how do you make them, you ask? Go to the fabric store and buy a yard of netting...the cheap stuff, for about $1.30 a yard. Trim off the side folds (WARNING: this stuff is difficult to cut without catching your scissors on it!) and cut the netting into thirds (width-wise...each un-puffed scrubbie is about 4 inches wide). Gather up one of the thirds (like when you made a folded paper fan with the Church program) and secure with an elastic band around the middle. Now this is the time consuming part...pull out each layer of the netting to make it "puff" and viola...you've got a scrubbie! Happy dishwashing!
