It's amazing what people will do to look at Twinkle Lights!
We have a huge, wonderful, ethereal display of lights in our capitol city. Thousands of people come to see them every Christmas...and wouldn't ya know it! They all showed up on the two nights we wanted to go! Sweetie and I tried to go a few weeks ago but we were thwarted...every parking place within 10 miles was taken. And there were herds of lemmings...ummm, I mean people...filling every crosswalk. So we tried again on Christmas Eve Eve. Luckily, we snagged a parking spot within a few blocks...made the trek to the square...and this is what we found- 
What you may not be able to tell from the photo is that everything in it that ISN'T a light...is a people! Seriously! It was wall-to-wall-to-twinkle light people...and strollers...and bicycles (who DOES that?)...and bagpipes (playing Jingle Bells!)...and lots of families with winter woolly hats on that obscure their peripheral vision so they run into each other! All for Twinkle Lights!
But seriously...who can blame them?
Next year I think Sweetie and I are going during the daytime...it's a lot less crowded then! ;)
